Apple shares plummet after Epic Games trial
On September 10, an American court ended the legal battle between Apple and Epic Games, which lasted more than a year. On Friday, Apple shares reacted to the court verdict with a fall of 3.3%.
According to Bloomberg, the share price fell to $ 148.7, which was the most significant drop in value since May this year. Apple lost about $ 85 billion in capitalization.
It is worth noting that Apple is currently recovering from the crash. Before the opening of trading on Monday, securities of the Californian IT giant rose in price by 1%.
Earlier it was reported that the court ordered Apple to allow app developers to direct users to alternative platforms for making payments, which would allow them to avoid paying a 30% commission in the App Store.
Analysts say that while this decision may affect Apple’s service revenue, the extent of such losses is not yet fully understood. In addition, the consequences of the judgment will be postponed in time.
