At the moment, it is unclear who is behind the cyber attack and whether it resulted in a data breach.
On Wednesday, September 8, a cyberattack temporarily disrupted the work of ANZ, New Zealand’s largest bank, and a number of other financial institutions, as well as the country’s national postal service.
“CERT NZ has been informed of a DDoS attack on a number of New Zealand organizations. We are monitoring the situation and working with affected parties where possible, ” said New Zealand’s Computer Incident Response Team.
According to ANZ on Twitter, the cyberattack caused some services to stop working, in particular online banking and the goMoney app.
