REvil ransomware ceased operations after talks between Putin and Biden

Sites that may be associated with one of the Russian hacker groups have been disabled on the Internet, Bloomberg reports.

All Internet sites that were in any way associated with the notorious hacker group REvil are currently inactive.

“It’s too early to tell, but I’ve never seen their entire infrastructure shut down this way,” said Allan Liska, senior analyst at cybersecurity firm Recorded Future Inc. He added that the hackers’ ransomware page, their payment systems and chat were disabled.

Recall that the REvil hacker group has recently gained fame due to massive attacks on American companies using a data encryption virus. The media reported that about 20 organizations were attacked.

Hackers from REvil are responsible for cyberattacks on divisions of meat processing company JBS and software company Kaseya.
