UK to impose sanctions against cybercriminals

British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab said London will consider expanding its blacklists and reserves the right to use “more offensive means of fighting” against attackers. Raab said this in an interview with The Daily Telegraph.

Specific restrictive measures that Britain may impose on cybercriminals include the freezing of their bank accounts, as well as a ban on entry into the country.

Raab noted that the United Kingdom will work with the US government to “lead the global effort” to combat cyberattacks using ransomware viruses that cripple national infrastructure.
